Kishor Fiorin

Kishor was born in 2002 in Basundara, Kathmandu, Nepal. Since childhood, the act of mark-making has inhabited him: his first lines drawn in the dust of the earth, light and dark brown grains, became the beginning of a long journey in which shapes and colours transform into meaning, into reality.
In 2008 he was adopted by a Venetian family and began a new life among the canals and the light of the lagoon. He attended art school for three years, refining techniques and establishing his passions. He studied at the Marco Polo Art High School in Venice, before continuing his artistic research at the Academy of Fine Arts in Venice, in Atelier F under Professor Carlo Di Raco and Martino Scavezzon, a studio program that has nurtured talents for over twenty years and has become a consolidated presence in the contemporary art scene. During his academic years, he took part in group exhibitions and contributed to initiatives connected with the Venice Biennale.
For Kishor, painting is a return to the past, to his culture, to his childhood, and to tradition. These are elements that strengthen his mark-making, colour, and space. Painting becomes a tool of memory and identity: a way to write one's name on the small particles of the world, to give form to what would otherwise remain silence.
